THE KINDNESS OF BEAUTY

In this series of large-scale drawings elaborated in graphite, the decontextualised figures depict a duality between the familiar and the unfamiliar.

It is a reflection towards a part of the body, such as the lower extremities with which animals leave their mark. We identify these drawings next to the full body drawings in profile and also looking in the same direction.

As we get closer we realize how the familiar becomes somewhat strange and at the same time we begin to recognize shapes in those extremeties that are so unfamilar.
